Peri-Conception
Our peri-conception program caters to women of childbearing age who wish to become pregnant. Extensive data show how an optimal in-utero environment significantly impacts the chances of conception and having a healthy pregnancy and baby. Your lifestyle leading up to conception can affect up to three generations: yourself, your child, and your grandchildren.
Many pregnancy complications, including preeclampsia, preterm birth, and gestational diabetes, increase the risk of the mother developing chronic conditions later in life. Through our specific lifestyle interventions, we prevent or improve outcome of future diseases before they even start. We also reduce the risk of repeat complications in future pregnancies.
This program collaborates with women before conception or, if already pregnant, during pregnancy through postpartum to ensure optimal maternal-fetal health.
Goals:
Reverse or reduce the impact of chronic diseases before conception
Improve fertility
Prepare the body for pregnancy
Support a physically and emotionally healthy pregnancy
Equip mothers with evidence-based knowledge for optimal fetal growth, smooth delivery, and raising a healthy baby
Control gestational diabetes mellitus through lifestyle changes: reverse pre-pregnancy insulin resistance, keep blood sugar stable, and avoid future chronic conditions
Monitor and care for the mother’s health postpartum to ensure maximum physical and mental well-being within the baby’s first 6 months
Duration: Pre-pregnancy, throughout pregnancy, and up to 6 months postpartum
Program highlights:
Extensive education and guidance on crucial aspects of newborn and infant care such as breastfeeding, initiation of baby’s solid foods, physical and mental stimulation for prime baby’s development, and more
As a valuable addition, the mother and baby will be followed for the first 6 months of the baby’s life (an extended follow-up period can be discussed)
